Elecampane + Diphenhydramine
Diphenhydramine brand names: Benadryl, Dormin, Allerdryl, Valdrene, Sleep-Ettes D, and others.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Diphenhydramine
Diphenhydramine falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Elecampane interacts with.
Elecampane might have sedative effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind with this pair: diphenhydramine (Benadryl) already makes a lot of people drowsy, since it's an older antihistamine that crosses into the brain. Elecampane is thought to have mild sedating properties of its own, so the worry is that the two could add up and leave you feeling more sluggish than you expected, with extra grogginess, dizziness, or trouble concentrating.
I'll be honest, this one is theoretical. It's based on how the herb might act, not on solid human studies, so for many people it may not amount to much. Still, if you notice you're extra foggy, don't drive or operate machinery, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you take diphenhydramine at night for sleep.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Diphenhydramine page
“Diphenhydramine (Benadryl, Simply Sleep) is sedating by design, and most of the 147 supplements and herbal ingredients on this list lean into that. Seventy-eight are sedating substances themselves, alcohol and kava the standouts, and stacking them can slow breathing and reflexes well beyond ordinary drowsiness.”
