These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
False Unicorn interacts with whole categories of medication. Guaifenesin, Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with False Unicorn in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Guaifenesin, Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine
Guaifenesin, Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group False Unicorn interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The piece of this combo product that interacts is the hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is partly turned into a stronger painkiller (hydromorphone) by a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. In a lab dish, False Unicorn appears to slow that enzyme down. So in theory, it could shift how much active drug your body makes from hydrocodone, which might change how strong the pain relief or the side effects feel. The guaifenesin and pseudoephedrine parts are not really affected here.
I want to be honest about the evidence: this is only from test-tube work, not real people, so it may not matter much in everyday life. Still, with an opioid I'd play it safe and watch for things like extra drowsiness, dizziness, or slowed breathing. Please run this by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Guaifenesin, Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination product has three pieces, and the one that matters most here is the hydrocodone, an opioid cough and pain ingredient. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear hydrocodone. In a lab dish, False Unicorn slowed that enzyme down. If the same thing happened in your body, hydrocodone could build up a bit more than usual and hit harder, meaning more drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or slowed breathing.
I want to be honest about the evidence, though: this is only a test-tube finding, not something proven in people, so the real-world risk is uncertain. The guaifenesin and pseudoephedrine parts aren't really involved. Still, since opioids carry real risk, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing these rather than guessing.
