Temsirolimus falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group False Unicorn interacts with.

In vitro, false unicorn extract inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity. Theoretically, false unicorn might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates. Drugs that might be affected include some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, nicardipine, verapamil), chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), glucocorticoids, cisapride (Propulsid), alfentanil (Alfenta), fentanyl (Sublimaze), losartan (Cozaar), fluoxetine (Prozac), midazolam (Versed), omeprazole (Prilosec), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), fexofenadine (Allegra), and numerous others.

Here's the gist for temsirolimus (Torisel): your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear this cancer drug. In lab testing, False Unicorn appears to slow that same enzyme down. If that effect held true in people, temsirolimus could clear more slowly and build up in your system, which may mean stronger side effects like mouth sores, rash, fatigue, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, or a drop in your blood counts.

I want to be straight with you, though: this is based only on a test-tube study, not on real patients, so it's theoretical. Still, temsirolimus is serious chemotherapy with a narrow safety margin, so please don't add False Unicorn without first clearing it with your oncologist or pharmacist.
