Ibuprofen, Hydrocodone falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Forsythia interacts with.

Theoretically, taking forsythia with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bleeding due to decreased platelet aggregation. Forsythia might reduce platelet aggregation by inhibiting platelet activating factor. Some of these drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

This combo product pairs ibuprofen (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever) with hydrocodone (an opioid). The piece that matters here is the ibuprofen. Ibuprofen already makes your platelets a little less sticky, which slightly raises the chance of bleeding or bruising. Forsythia, in lab studies, may also nudge platelets in that same direction. Put them together and, in theory, those small effects could add up.

To be honest, this is a theoretical concern. It comes from test-tube and animal research, not from real patients, so the actual risk is low. Still, keep an eye out for easy bruising, nosebleeds, dark stools, or stomach upset, since ibuprofen can irritate the gut too. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them, especially around any surgery.
