Here's the simple version: chamomile tea has a mild calming, sleepy quality of its own, and vigabatrin (Sabril) can already make people feel drowsy, tired, or dizzy. Put the two together and those sleepy effects could add up a little, so you might feel more groggy or slowed down than usual.

I want to be honest about how strong this concern is. It's theoretical and comes mainly from lab and animal research, not from solid studies in people. An occasional cup of chamomile tea is unlikely to cause trouble, while concentrated supplement extracts are more of a question mark. Vigabatrin is important seizure medicine, so don't change anything on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor, and notice how you feel.

German chamomile is a widely used herbal remedy taken mainly as a tea for calming, sleep, and digestive complaints. Early research suggests possible benefits for mild anxiety and some skin or digestive issues, but the evidence is limited and most uses are based on tradition rather than strong proof. It is generally well tolerated, but people allergic to ragweed or related plants and those who are pregnant should be cautious.

About Vigabatrin

What Is Vigabatrin Used For?

Brand name: Sabril

Vigabatrin is used to treat two types of seizure conditions. For refractory complex partial seizures (seizures that have not responded well to other treatments), vigabatrin oral solution and tablets are used as an add-on therapy in patients 2 years of age and older — it is not a first-line treatment. Sabril, Vigadrone, and vigabatrin-branded products carry this indication.

For infantile spasms — a specific type of seizure disorder in very young children — vigabatrin oral solution is used as a standalone (monotherapy) treatment in infants 1 month to 2 years of age. Vigafyde oral solution is indicated specifically for infantile spasms monotherapy in this same age group. In all cases, treatment is only appropriate when the potential benefits outweigh the risk of permanent vision loss.
