Greater Celandine + Beclomethasone
Beclomethasone brand names: Beclovent, Vanceril.
Greater Celandine has a moderate interaction with Beclomethasone. Preliminary clinical research suggests that taking a specific semi-synthetic derivative of the greater celandine constituent chelidonine (Ukrain; not available in North America) might stimulate immune responses in cancer patients.

IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Beclomethasone
Beclomethasone falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Greater Celandine interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the idea behind this pairing. Greater celandine may nudge the immune system to be more active, while beclomethasone is an inhaled steroid that works by calming inflammation in your airways. Because they push in opposite directions, the theory is that the herb could blunt some of the steroid's effect, leaving your asthma less controlled (think more wheezing, coughing, or chest tightness).
I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based on how things look in the lab and a special drug not even sold here, not on real patients using inhaled beclomethasone. Inhaled steroids also act mostly right in the lungs, so the effect, if any, is likely small. The bigger concern with greater celandine is its link to serious liver injury. Before adding it, please check with your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Beclomethasone page
“Most people on beclomethasone (Beclovent, Vanceril) use it daily to keep asthma or nasal allergies quiet, and plenty also take herbal products, which is where this list earns real caution. Of the 202 ingredients on this page, four rate major, and those deserve your attention ahead of everything else.”

About Greater Celandine
What is Greater Celandine?
- Digestive and gallbladder complaints
- Stomach cramps and bloating
- Topical use for warts and skin growths
- Liver and gallbladder 'cleansing'
- Mild pain relief
Greater celandine is a traditional herb most often promoted for digestive and gallbladder complaints, but solid human evidence for any use is lacking. More importantly, it has been linked to serious and sometimes severe liver injury, so most experts advise against taking it by mouth. If you are considering it, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.
About Beclomethasone Oral Inhalation
What Is Beclomethasone Oral Inhalation Used For?
Brand names: Beclovent, Vanceril
Beclomethasone dipropionate HFA inhalation aerosol (brand: Qvar Redihaler) is used for the ongoing, daily management of asthma in adults and children 5 years of age and older. It is a preventive (maintenance) therapy — not a rescue inhaler — meaning it helps control asthma over time rather than treating sudden symptoms.
Important: Qvar Redihaler is not for the relief of sudden asthma attacks or acute bronchospasm. Always keep a separate fast-acting (rescue) inhaler on hand for those moments.
