Here's a bit of a mismatch worth knowing about. The interaction on file is about oral medicines, where guar gum's thick gel can trap a drug in the gut and slow or lower how much gets absorbed. Vincristine, though, is given as an injection into a vein by your cancer care team, not as a pill you swallow. Because it never passes through your stomach and intestines, that gel can't grab hold of it the way it would with an oral medicine.

So for vincristine itself, a fiber like guar gum is very unlikely to change how well your chemo works. Still, during cancer treatment please run any supplement past your oncology pharmacist or doctor first, since timing, side effects like constipation, and other oral medicines in your regimen all matter.

What Is Vincristine Injection Used For?

Vincristine Sulfate Injection is approved to treat acute leukemia. It is also used as part of combination chemotherapy regimens for Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphomas, rhabdomyosarcoma (a soft-tissue cancer), neuroblastoma (a cancer of nerve tissue), and Wilms' tumor (a kidney cancer in children).

Because it works best alongside other cancer medicines, vincristine is almost always given as part of a multi-drug treatment plan rather than on its own.
