ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Dapagliflozin
Dapagliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Guava interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: guava, especially concentrated guava leaf products, may nudge your blood sugar a little lower on its own. Since dapagliflozin (Farxiga) is already working to lower your blood sugar by making you spill extra sugar into your urine, stacking the two could theoretically add up and push your numbers down too far.
Honestly though, this concern comes mostly from lab and animal studies, so it's more of a 'keep an eye out' than a red alert. If you do try guava leaf supplements, watch for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy, and check your readings more often at first. Eating guava fruit as a food is far less likely to matter. Loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

About Guava
What is Guava?
- Diarrhea and digestive upset
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Wound and skin care
- Cough and sore throat
Guava is a tropical fruit tree whose leaves and fruit have a long history of folk use for diarrhea, blood sugar, and general wellness. The fruit is a nutritious food rich in vitamin C, but evidence for guava leaf supplements treating specific health conditions is limited and mostly early. If you want to try guava leaf products, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first, especially if you take medicines or have a health condition.
About Dapagliflozin
What Is Dapagliflozin Used For?

Dapagliflozin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Dapagliflozin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Guava — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
