Pazopanib falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Horse Chestnut interacts with.

Horse chestnut may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Horse chestnut contains the constituent esculin which has been shown to have antithrombotic effects. Therefore, horse chestnut might have antiplatelet effects. This has not been shown in humans.

Here's the concern with pairing horse chestnut and pazopanib (Votrient). Horse chestnut contains a compound called esculin that, in lab studies, looks like it might thin the blood a little and slow down clotting. Pazopanib itself isn't a blood thinner, but it carries its own real risk of bleeding, things like nosebleeds, bruising more easily, blood in the urine or stool, and in some cases more serious internal bleeding. Stacking something that may also nudge bleeding risk upward isn't ideal.

That said, this is theoretical. The antiplatelet effect of horse chestnut has been shown in the lab, not in actual people. Still, because pazopanib bleeding can be serious, please check with your oncologist or pharmacist before combining them.

What Is Pazopanib Used For?

Brand name: Votrient

Pazopanib tablets — sold as the brand Votrient and as generic pazopanib — are used to treat two types of advanced cancer in adults: advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), the most common form of kidney cancer, and advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) in patients who have already received prior chemotherapy.

Important limitation: Pazopanib has not been shown to work in adipocytic soft tissue sarcoma (a subtype involving fat cells) or in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), so it is not used for those cancers.
