Huperzine A has acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibiting effects. In animal models, huperzine A reversed cognitive deficits induced by scopolamine, an anticholinergic drug.

Here's the simple version. Your inhaler, Revefenacin (Yupelri), works by blocking a nerve signal (acetylcholine) so the muscles around your airways relax and you can breathe easier. Huperzine A pushes in the opposite direction. It raises acetylcholine levels, which is the very signal your inhaler is trying to quiet down. So in theory, taking huperzine A could chip away at how well your COPD inhaler opens up your airways, meaning a bit more wheezing, coughing, or tightness in your chest.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This concern comes only from lab and animal work, not from people using these two together, so it's more of a theoretical tug-of-war than a proven problem. Still, since your breathing matters, I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before adding huperzine A. Don't change your inhaler on your own.

Huperzine A is a purified compound from a Chinese clubmoss that acts like a mild cholinesterase inhibitor, similar in mechanism to some prescription Alzheimer's drugs. What Is Revefenacin Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand name: Yupelri

Yupelri (revefenacin) inhalation solution is approved for the maintenance treatment of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) in adults. It is used every day to help keep airways open and make breathing easier over the long term.

Yupelri is not a rescue inhaler — it will not relieve a sudden COPD flare-up or acute breathing attack. A separate short-acting bronchodilator is needed for those situations.
