Trazodone falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Iboga interacts with.

Theoretically, taking iboga with serotonergic drugs might increase levels of serotonin, resulting in additive effects with serotonergic drugs.
Ibogaine, a constituent in iboga, has serotonergic effects. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with iboga might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders. Monitor patients for signs of serotonin syndrome and other serotonergic side effects if using iboga with serotonergic drugs.

Here's the gist for trazodone. Trazodone works by boosting serotonin in your brain, and Iboga (through its main compound, ibogaine) nudges serotonin upward too. Stack the two and you could end up with too much serotonin activity. That can show up as agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shakiness, muscle twitching, confusion, or in rare cases a serious reaction called serotonin syndrome.

I'll be straight with you: this concern is theoretical, based on how both work rather than real-world reports. But Iboga also carries genuine dangers of its own, including risky heart rhythm changes. Combining it with trazodone isn't something I'd take lightly. Please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything with your trazodone.
