CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Daridorexant
Daridorexant falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Jamaican Dogwood interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: daridorexant (Quviviq) is a sleep medicine that calms brain signals to help you fall and stay asleep. Jamaican dogwood has its own calming, sedative-type properties. When you put the two together, those effects can stack on top of each other, so you may feel more drowsy than expected, groggy or foggy the next morning, dizzy, or unsteady on your feet, especially if you get up during the night.
I want to be honest about the strength of this one. It's a theoretical concern based on how these things act, not on solid human studies, so it isn't a sure thing. Still, since both lean in the same sleepy direction, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them rather than guessing on your own.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Daridorexant page
“Daridorexant (Quviviq) quiets the brain's wake signals to treat insomnia, so supplements that add drowsiness or change how the liver clears it deserve real caution here. Of the 195 ingredients with a documented interaction, 9 rate major, and those are the ones to understand first.”
