Here's the simple version: this combo cold medicine (the antihistamine chlorpheniramine plus the cough suppressant dextromethorphan) can occasionally make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Khella does the same thing because of compounds like khellin. Put them together and you may, in theory, burn a little faster or develop a rash with sun exposure. This isn't about khella changing how the drug works in your body, it's just two things nudging your skin in the same direction.

Honestly, the evidence here is thin and mostly anecdotal, so I wouldn't panic. If you do use both, just be smart about sun: wear sunscreen, cover up, and skip the tanning bed. And since khella can cause other side effects too, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor first.
