ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Fosinopril, Hydrochlorothiazide
Fosinopril, Hydrochlorothiazide falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Korean Pine interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Your Monopril HCT combines two blood pressure lowerers: fosinopril, an ACE inhibitor, and hydrochlorothiazide, a water pill. Here's the gist with Korean Pine: in animal studies, pine nut oil nudged blood pressure down a little. The thought is that if it adds even a small effect on top of your medication, your pressure could drop a bit more than expected.
I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It comes from rat research, not human trials, so it's mostly theoretical. Eating pine nuts as food almost certainly won't cause trouble. With concentrated pine extracts, just keep an eye out for dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint when you stand up. If you notice those, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

About Korean Pine
What is Korean Pine?
- Appetite control and weight management
- Heart and cholesterol health
- General nutrition and energy
- Skin and antioxidant support
- Cough and respiratory comfort (traditional)
Korean Pine is best known as the source of edible pine nuts and pine nut oil, which are nutritious foods rich in healthy fats. While some early research looks at pine nut oil for appetite and cholesterol, strong human evidence for any specific health benefit is limited. Treat it mainly as a food, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated extracts.
