Treprostinil (Inh) falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Krill Oil interacts with.

Theoretically, krill oil may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Taking high doses of omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil can modestly decrease platelet aggregation. Since krill oil also contains these fatty acids, taking high doses of krill oil might also inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, taking high doses of krill oil with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might increase the risk of bleeding. However, the omega-3 content of krill oil is much lower than that of fish oil.

Here's what's going on with inhaled treprostinil (Tyvaso). Besides relaxing the blood vessels in your lungs, it also gently discourages platelets (the tiny cells that help your blood clot) from clumping together. Krill oil supplies omega-3 fats that, in high doses, can do a similar thing. Stack the two and you could, in theory, bruise or bleed a little more easily, or notice nosebleeds or bleeding gums.

I want to keep this in perspective. This concern is theoretical and comes from how these ingredients behave, not from real reports of harm. Krill oil also carries less omega-3 than fish oil, so the effect is likely small. Still, it's worth a quick heads-up to your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, especially if you notice any unusual bleeding.

What Is Treprostinil Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand name: Tyvaso

Treprostinil oral inhalation is used to treat two serious lung conditions that raise pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs. It helps improve how much physical activity you can do.

Tyvaso inhalation solution and Tyvaso DPI are both indicated to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1) and pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3). Clinical studies establishing effectiveness in PAH primarily included patients with moderate symptoms (NYHA Class III) whose PAH was idiopathic, heritable, or related to connective tissue disease. Studies in PH-ILD primarily included patients with idiopathic interstitial pneumonia, combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema, or connective tissue disease-related lung disease.
