Here's the thing to know about pairing kudzu with bortezomib (Velcade): both can potentially be tough on the liver. Bortezomib is a cancer medicine that your liver helps process, and it can sometimes raise liver enzymes or, less often, cause more serious liver trouble. Kudzu has also been linked to possible liver stress in some reports. Stacking two things that may strain the liver could, in theory, add up.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how these work, not from strong studies showing harm together. Still, with a serious cancer drug like this, I'd play it safe. Please check with your oncology team or pharmacist before adding kudzu, so they can watch your liver labs.

Bortezomib is used to treat two types of cancer in adults: multiple myeloma (a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow) and mantle cell lymphoma (a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma). These indications are shared across the available products — Velcade, Boruzu, and generic bortezomib formulations.
