Here's the thing to know about this combination: your Panlor or DHC Plus contains dihydrocodeine, an opioid pain reliever that already slows down the brain and body. Mace contains aromatic oils (like myristicin and methyleugenol) that animal studies suggest may have their own mild sedative, calming effect. Stack those together and the worry is they could add up, leaving you more drowsy, foggy, lightheaded, or short of breath than the medicine alone would.
I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal research, not strong human studies. A pinch of mace in your cooking is very unlikely to cause trouble. The caution really applies to concentrated mace supplements. If you take those, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Here's the part of this combination pill that matters most for mace: the caffeine. Caffeine is cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Lab and animal studies hint that myristicin, a compound in mace, may speed that enzyme up. In theory, that could clear caffeine a little faster, so the gentle pick-me-up and headache-fighting boost caffeine adds to this product might feel slightly weaker.
Honestly, this is very theoretical and based on animal data, not real people. The amount of mace you'd get as a kitchen spice is unlikely to do anything noticeable. Concentrated mace supplements are a different story, so run those by your pharmacist first. The dihydrocodeine and acetaminophen parts aren't the concern here.

Mace is the lacy red covering of the nutmeg seed and comes from the same tree as nutmeg. It is mostly used as a cooking spice and in traditional medicine for digestion, but there is little solid human research to support its health uses. In normal food amounts it is generally safe, but large doses can be toxic, so use it as a spice and check with your pharmacist before taking concentrated supplements.
