ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Aluminum Hydroxide, Aspirin, Magnesium Hydroxide
Aluminum Hydroxide, Aspirin, Magnesium Hydroxide falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Maritime Pine interacts with.
Clinical research suggests that maritime pine bark extract inhibits platelet aggregation. However, the clinical significance of this effect is unclear.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know with this combo: the aspirin in Ascriptin already thins your blood a bit by making your platelets less sticky. Maritime pine bark (Pycnogenol) seems to do something similar in lab studies, slowing platelets down too. Stack the two together and, at least in theory, you could nudge your bleeding risk a little higher. That might show up as easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or a cut that takes longer to stop.
I'll be honest though, this is mostly a theory based on how these compounds behave, not strong proof from real-world cases. The aluminum and magnesium part (antacids) isn't involved here. Still, if you're on daily aspirin, especially for your heart, just check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding the supplement.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aluminum Hydroxide, Aspirin, Magnesium Hydroxide page
“Ascriptin combines aspirin with two antacids, aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide, and the aspirin part already thins the blood on its own. That is why more than 200 of the 255 ingredients listed here can raise bleeding risk, and why this page deserves a careful read rather than a quick skim.”

About Maritime Pine
What is Maritime Pine?
- Circulation and vein health
- Antioxidant support
- Skin health and aging
- High blood pressure
- Joint comfort
Maritime pine bark extract (often sold as Pycnogenol) is a plant-based antioxidant most studied for circulation, vein, and skin health. Some research is promising, but many studies are small or industry-funded, so benefits are not firmly proven. It is generally well tolerated, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.
About Aspirin
What Is Aspirin Used For?
Brand name: Ascriptin
Aspirin is used to temporarily relieve minor aches and pains from headaches, backaches, muscle aches, toothaches, menstrual cramps, the common cold, and minor arthritis pain. It also temporarily reduces fever.
Some coated aspirin tablet products note that, under a doctor's supervision, aspirin can help prevent another heart attack or stroke in adults who have already had one. Because of their delayed-release design, those coated products will not give fast relief for headaches or other symptoms needing quick relief.
