Theoretically, meadowsweet might have an additive effect with other salicylate-containing drugs, such as aspirin.
Meadowsweet contains salicin, a plant salicylate; however, salicin doesn't seem to have the antiplatelet effects of aspirin.

This combination product (Soma Compound with Codeine) already contains aspirin, which is a salicylate. Meadowsweet naturally carries its own salicylates, the aspirin-like compounds called salicin. So in theory, taking them together stacks salicylate on top of salicylate, which could add to aspirin's typical side effects like stomach upset, heartburn, ringing in the ears, or irritation of the stomach lining.

I want to be honest though: this concern is theoretical, based on how the plant chemistry looks rather than real human studies. The salicin in meadowsweet doesn't appear to thin the blood the way aspirin does. Small culinary amounts are unlikely to matter much, but concentrated supplements are a different story. Before adding meadowsweet, please check with your pharmacist or doctor.
