Esomeprazole Strontium falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Peony interacts with.

Theoretically, use of peony may increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that peony suppresses the metabolism of clozapine via weak-to-moderate inhibitory effects on CYP1A2 and CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for esomeprazole, the acid-reducing part of Esomeprazole Strontium. Peony root, in some lab and animal studies, seems to mildly slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Since esomeprazole is partly cleared by that enzyme (along with CYP2C19), the theory is that peony could let a little more of the drug build up in your system.

In practice, this is very much a theoretical concern. The evidence comes from test tubes and animals, not people, and it was studied with a different medication. Even if levels nudged up, esomeprazole is generally well tolerated, so you'd most likely just notice mild things like headache, gas, or an upset stomach. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but do mention the peony to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on things.
