Beclomethasone falls under CORTICOSTEROIDS — the group Pheasant's Eye interacts with.

Theoretically, using pheasant's eye with prolonged corticosteroid therapy can cause cardiac glycoside toxicity.
Pheasant's eye contains cardiac glycosides. Concomitant use of corticosteroids with pheasant's eye can increase the therapeutic and adverse effects of long-term corticosteroid use due to potassium depletion and electrolyte imbalance.

Here's the connection with your asthma inhaler, Beclomethasone. This isn't about the steroid hurting your lungs. It's about potassium. Long-term corticosteroids can slowly lower your potassium levels, and Pheasant's Eye contains digoxin-like heart compounds. When potassium runs low, those heart compounds become more potent and more dangerous, which can lead to cardiac glycoside toxicity (nausea, a slow or irregular heartbeat, dizziness, or visual changes).

A few honest caveats. This concern is mostly theoretical, based on how these substances work rather than real reports. Also, inhaled Beclomethasone delivers far less steroid to the body than pills, so the potassium effect is usually small. The bigger issue is that Pheasant's Eye is genuinely toxic and shouldn't be used on your own. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Pheasant's Eye (Adonis vernalis) is a toxic plant that contains heart-acting compounds similar to those in foxglove. It has been used in traditional and old European medicine for heart problems, but it is poisonous and has a very narrow margin of safety. You should not use it on your own — it should only ever be considered under direct medical supervision, if at all.

What Is Beclomethasone Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand names: Beclovent, Vanceril

Beclomethasone dipropionate HFA inhalation aerosol (brand: Qvar Redihaler) is used for the ongoing, daily management of asthma in adults and children 5 years of age and older. It is a preventive (maintenance) therapy — not a rescue inhaler — meaning it helps control asthma over time rather than treating sudden symptoms.

Important: Qvar Redihaler is not for the relief of sudden asthma attacks or acute bronchospasm. Always keep a separate fast-acting (rescue) inhaler on hand for those moments.
