Vortioxetine falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Phenethylamine (pea) interacts with.

Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with phenethylamine might increase the risk of serotonergic adverse effects.
Animal research shows that phenethylamine increases levels of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with phenethylamine might increase the risk of additive serotonergic adverse effects, including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders. However, low-quality clinical research has used phenethylamine with selegiline, a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), with apparent safety.

Here's the gist: Trintellix (vortioxetine) works by raising serotonin in your brain. Phenethylamine, in lab and animal studies, can nudge serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine upward too. So in theory, stacking them could pile on extra serotonin activity. When serotonin climbs too high, you can run into what's called serotonin syndrome, with symptoms like agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shivering, muscle twitching, or feeling jittery and confused.

I want to be straight with you, though: this is mostly a theoretical concern based on animal data, not strong human evidence. PEA can also bump up blood pressure and heart rate on its own. Before adding a PEA supplement to your Trintellix, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor so they can weigh it for your situation.
