Policosanol + Amylase, Lipase, Protease
Amylase, Lipase, Protease brand names: Pangestyme MT 16, Pangestyme CN 10, Pangestyme CN 20, Pangestyme EC, Pangestyme UL 12, and others.
We found no known interaction between Policosanol and Amylase, Lipase, Protease in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Policosanol and Amylase, Lipase, Protease
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Amylase, Lipase, Protease and Policosanol in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Amylase, Lipase, Protease
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Amylase, Lipase, Protease is filed under a single classification — oral drugs. Policosanol has documented interactions with 6 drug classes — the most serious being anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs (moderate), antidiabetes drugs (moderate) and beta-blockers (moderate) — and none of Amylase, Lipase, Protease’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

This page covers Policosanol only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Amylase, Lipase, Protease page lists 17 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Coffee Charcoal (moderate), European Mandrake (moderate), Glucomannan (moderate) and Guar Gum (moderate).
By severity: 1 major · 7 moderate · 9 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Amylase, Lipase, Protease page
“Pancreatic enzyme replacements (amylase, lipase, and protease, the Pangestyme brands) only work if the capsules reach your gut and mix with food, and all 17 supplements listed here can interfere with that, so the list deserves real care. Activated charcoal is the one major-rated entry; it soaks up medicines in the digestive tract befor…”

About Policosanol
What is Policosanol?
- High cholesterol
- Heart and blood vessel health
- Leg pain from poor circulation (intermittent claudication)
- Physical stamina and energy
Policosanol is a mix of waxy alcohols (mostly octacosanol) made from sugar cane or other plant waxes, and it is often marketed as a natural way to lower cholesterol. Early studies from Cuba showed strong cholesterol-lowering effects, but independent studies in other countries have mostly failed to confirm these benefits. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you take cholesterol medicine.

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Policosanol is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Policosanol record says about it on its own.
Policosanol: dosing
There is no official or universally agreed-upon dose for policosanol. The amounts used in studies have varied, and the source of the wax can change how a product behaves. They can help you decide if it is appropriate for you and whether your cholesterol or heart condition needs proven treatment instead.

About Pancrelipase
What Is Pancrelipase Used For?
Brand names: Pangestyme MT 16, Pangestyme CN 10, Pangestyme CN 20, Pangestyme EC, Pangestyme UL 12, Pangestyme UL 18, Pangestyme UL 20, Pancrelipase, Pancrelipase 10,000, Lipram 10,000, Pancrecarb Ms-4, Ku-Zyme, Kutrase, Digepepsin, Pancrecarb Ms-8, Pancrelipase 16,000, Pancrelipase 20,000, Pancron 20, Festal II, Microspheres, Zymase, Entozyme, Ku-Zyme HP, Protilase, Ilozyme, Plaretase, Ultresa
Pancrelipase is used to treat exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) — a condition where the pancreas doesn't produce enough digestive enzymes. Without these enzymes, the body struggles to break down and absorb nutrients from food.
It is indicated for adults with EPI caused by chronic pancreatitis (long-term pancreas inflammation) or pancreatectomy (surgical removal of the pancreas, in whole or in part). It is also used in people with cystic fibrosis who develop EPI.
