Here's the short version: pork insulin already pulls your blood sugar down, and policosanol may nudge it down a little further. Some studies show policosanol can lower glucose on its own, so stacking the two could add up and push you into low blood sugar more easily.

With insulin, a low means the usual warning signs: shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, hunger, confusion, or feeling lightheaded. If you decide to try policosanol, check your sugars more closely at first so you can catch a dip early. The evidence here isn't rock solid, and the glucose effect is modest, but please don't change your insulin dose on your own. Loop in your pharmacist or doctor first so any adjustments are done safely.

What is Policosanol?

Policosanol is a mix of waxy alcohols (mostly octacosanol) made from sugar cane or other plant waxes, and it is often marketed as a natural way to lower cholesterol. Early studies from Cuba showed strong cholesterol-lowering effects, but independent studies in other countries have mostly failed to confirm these benefits. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you take cholesterol medicine.
