In another study, 2 out of 70 patients taking policosanol 10 mg daily for 8 weeks experienced headache.”

Policosanol is a mix of waxy alcohols (mostly octacosanol) made from sugar cane or other plant waxes, and it is often marketed as a natural way to lower cholesterol. Early studies from Cuba showed strong cholesterol-lowering effects, but independent studies in other countries have mostly failed to confirm these benefits. About Eliglustat

What Is Eliglustat Used For?

Brand name: Cerdelga

Cerdelga (eliglustat) is used for the long-term treatment of Gaucher disease type 1 in adults. Gaucher disease type 1 is a genetic condition in which a fatty substance called glucosylceramide builds up in organs like the liver, spleen, and bone marrow, causing them to enlarge and leading to problems like anemia and low platelet counts.

Cerdelga is only appropriate for adults whose bodies process the drug in a predictable way — specifically those identified as CYP2D6 extensive metabolizers (EMs), intermediate metabolizers (IMs), or poor metabolizers (PMs) by an FDA-cleared genetic test. People who are CYP2D6 ultra-rapid metabolizers may not reach drug levels high enough to benefit, and Cerdelga is not recommended for them.
