Infliximab-Abda falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Quillaia interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of quillaia with immunosuppressant drugs might decrease the effectiveness of these drugs.
In vitro research shows that some quillaia constituents have immunostimulant effects.

Renflexis (infliximab-abda) is a biologic medicine that calms an overactive immune system, which is exactly why it helps with conditions like Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Quillaia's saponins are the wildcard here. In lab dish studies, some of these compounds appear to stimulate the immune system, which is the opposite of what your infliximab is trying to do. The worry is that quillaia could, in theory, nudge your immune activity back up and make the drug work a little less well.

I want to be straight with you though: this is a theoretical concern based only on test-tube research, not real patient cases. The tiny amounts of quillaia used in foods and drinks are very unlikely to matter. A concentrated herbal supplement is a different story, so before adding one, please run it by your doctor or pharmacist who manages your infliximab.

Quillaia (soap bark tree) is a plant whose bark contains foaming compounds called saponins, and it is widely used as an emulsifier in foods and drinks. As a supplement or herbal remedy its benefits are not well proven, and large amounts can be irritating or toxic, so it should be used cautiously and only as directed.
