Here's the idea behind this pairing. Tecvayli (teclistamab) is a strong immune-based therapy for multiple myeloma. It works by steering your own T-cells to attack cancer cells. Quillaia contains saponins, and in lab dishes some of those compounds appear to stimulate the immune system. The concern is that, in theory, revving up immune activity could pull against a medication that is carefully managing how your immune system behaves.

I want to be honest with you though: this is a theoretical worry based only on test-tube research, not on real patients taking both together. We don't have human data showing it actually weakens Tecvayli or causes problems. Even so, since Tecvayli is a serious cancer treatment, please don't add quillaia without checking first with your oncology team or pharmacist.

Quillaia (soap bark tree) is a plant whose bark contains foaming compounds called saponins, and it is widely used as an emulsifier in foods and drinks. As a supplement or herbal remedy its benefits are not well proven, and large amounts can be irritating or toxic, so it should be used cautiously and only as directed.

What Is Teclistamab-cqyv Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tecvayli

Tecvayli (teclistamab-cqyv) injection is used to treat adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma — a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow — whose disease has come back or stopped responding to earlier treatments.

Tecvayli is approved in two settings: as monotherapy for patients who have received at least four prior lines of therapy (including a proteasome inhibitor, an immunomodulatory agent, and an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody); and in combination with daratumumab and hyaluronidase-fihj for patients who have received at least one prior line of therapy including a proteasome inhibitor and an immunomodulatory agent.
