Briumvi (ublituximab) is an infusion you get for relapsing multiple sclerosis. It works by quieting down part of your immune system, specifically the B cells that drive MS flare-ups. Quillaia's saponins, on the other hand, have shown immune-stimulating activity in lab dish studies. So the theory is simple: if quillaia nudges your immune system to be more active while Briumvi is trying to calm it, the supplement could, at least on paper, work against your treatment.

Here is the honest part: this concern is theoretical and comes only from test-tube research, not from people. Small food amounts of quillaia (it's a common foaming agent in drinks) are very unlikely to matter. Concentrated herbal doses are the bigger question mark. Before adding any quillaia supplement, run it past your MS specialist or pharmacist first.

What Is Ublituximab-xiiy injection Used For?

  • Ublituximab-xiiy injection is used to treat adults with various forms of multiple sclerosis (MS; a disease in which the nerves do not function properly and people may experience weakness, numbness, loss of muscle coordination, and problems with vision, speech, and bladder control), including :

    • clinically isolated syndrome (first episode of neurologic symptoms)

    • relapsing-remitting forms (course of disease where symptoms flare up from time to time)

    • secondary progressive forms (course of disease where relapses occur more often).

  • Ublituximab-xiiy injection is in a class of medications called monoclonal antibodies. It works by decreasing the action of immune cells that may cause nerve damage.
