Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound + Cefprozil
Cefprozil brand name: Cefzil.
We found no known interaction between Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound and Cefprozil in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound and Cefprozil
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Cefprozil and Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Cefprozil
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Cefprozil is filed under 6 classifications — including organic anion transporter 3 (oat3) substrates, organic anion transporter 1 (oat1) substrates, antibiotic drugs. Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being immunosuppressants (moderate) — and none of Cefprozil’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. By severity: 3 major · 46 moderate · 11 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Cefprozil page
“Cefprozil (Cefzil) is a cephalosporin antibiotic, usually a short course for ear, sinus, throat, or skin infections, and three of the 60 supplements on this list warrant real caution even for a week of pills. Activated charcoal can bind the drug and pull it out of your system before it works.”

About Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound
What is Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound?
- Immune support
- Support during cancer treatment
- Boosting natural killer (NK) cell activity
- General wellness in older adults
- Fatigue and quality of life support
Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound (often sold under brand names like MGN-3 or BioBran) is a processed fiber from rice bran treated with mushroom enzymes, marketed mainly as an immune booster. Early small studies suggest it may affect certain immune cells, but high-quality human evidence is very limited, and it should never replace standard medical care. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially during cancer treatment.
Poaceae · Rice bran (outer layer of Oryza sativa), modified with enzymes from shiitake mushroom · Capsules, tablets, powder, granules

About Cefprozil
What Is Cefprozil Used For?
Brand name: Cefzil
Cefprozil tablets and oral suspension are both used to treat mild to moderate bacterial infections in adults and children. Approved uses include pharyngitis/tonsillitis (strep throat), acute sinusitis, otitis media (ear infections), acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, and uncomplicated skin and skin-structure infections.
Cefprozil tablets are also approved for secondary bacterial infection of acute bronchitis. Because antibiotic resistance is a real concern, cefprozil should only be used when the infection is proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria that respond to it.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Cefprozil
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (780 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
