Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Aprocitentan
Aprocitentan falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Saigon Cinnamon interacts with.
Saigon cinnamon contains coumarin. Coumarin has caused hepatotoxicity in animal models. In otherwise healthy humans, very high doses of coumarin, from 50-7000 mg daily, can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the concern with pairing Saigon cinnamon and Tryvio (aprocitentan). This type of cinnamon (a cassia cinnamon) is naturally high in coumarin, a compound that can stress the liver when taken in large, concentrated supplement doses. Aprocitentan is in a class of blood pressure medicines (endothelin receptor antagonists) that can occasionally raise liver enzymes on their own, so the worry is simply an additive load on the liver, not a change in how the drug works.
To be clear, this is a theoretical caution based on how these ingredients behave, not proven cases. Sprinkling cinnamon on your oatmeal is very unlikely to matter. Regular high-dose cinnamon capsules are a different story. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting any concentrated cinnamon product while on aprocitentan.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aprocitentan page
“Aprocitentan (Tryvio) is prescribed when blood pressure stays high despite other medicines, so anything that pushes your pressure around cuts straight to why you take it. Most of the 189 ingredients here do exactly that: some add to the drop and can leave you dizzy or faint, while others, tyramine among them, push pressure back up and…”

About Saigon Cinnamon
What is Saigon Cinnamon?
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive upset
- Antioxidant support
- Flavoring and culinary use
- Antimicrobial
Saigon cinnamon is a flavorful spice from a Cinnamomum tree grown mainly in Vietnam, and it is a type of 'cassia' cinnamon. Some people use it for blood sugar and digestion, but the human evidence is limited. Because cassia cinnamons like this one are high in a compound called coumarin, regularly taking large supplement doses may be hard on the liver in sensitive people, so use food amounts and check with your pharmacist before taking concentrated products.
About Aprocitentan
What Is Aprocitentan Used For?
Brand name: Tryvio
Tryvio is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It is specifically for people whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on other blood pressure medications — it is always used together with at least one other antihypertensive drug, not on its own.
Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack. Tryvio has not been studied as a standalone treatment and is not intended to replace other blood pressure medicines.
