Saigon Cinnamon and Mobocertinib Succinate

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Mobocertinib Succinate and Saigon Cinnamon in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Saigon Cinnamon safety at a glance

Saigon Cinnamon overall Use caution Generally safe as a food spice, but large supplement doses raise concerns mainly due to its high coumarin content.
Pregnancy Use caution Food amounts are likely fine, but avoid medicinal or supplement doses during pregnancy due to limited safety data.
Breastfeeding Use caution Food amounts are likely fine, but avoid concentrated supplement doses because safety has not been studied.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Mobocertinib Succinate

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Mobocertinib Succinate is filed under 3 classifications — qt interval-prolonging drugs, cytochrome p450 3a4 (cyp3a4) substrates, oral drugs. Saigon Cinnamon has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being hepatotoxic drugs (moderate) — and none of Mobocertinib Succinate’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

What Saigon Cinnamon Itself Has Been Linked To

This is not an interaction — nothing below involves Mobocertinib Succinate. It is the side-effect record for Saigon Cinnamon on its own, from the licensed Natural Medicines monograph. If something new turns up after you add Saigon Cinnamon, this list is the first place to look. One entry is worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Liver problems Worth acting on Additional detail

“There is some concern about the safety of ingesting large amounts of Saigon cinnamon for extended durations due to its coumarin content. Saigon cinnamon contains higher levels of coumarin than other cinnamon species. In humans, very high doses of coumarin from 50-7000 mg daily can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin is discontinued.”

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Mobocertinib Succinate page

“Mobocertinib (Exkivity) is a targeted therapy for a hard-to-treat lung cancer, which makes dosing precision matter and this list worth real caution. Most of the 146 supplements on file can shift the drug's blood level, because mobocertinib is cleared by CYP3A4, an enzyme many botanicals speed up or slow down.”

About Saigon Cinnamon

What is Saigon Cinnamon?

  • Blood sugar support
  • Digestive upset
  • Antioxidant support
  • Flavoring and culinary use
  • Antimicrobial

Saigon cinnamon is a flavorful spice from a Cinnamomum tree grown mainly in Vietnam, and it is a type of 'cassia' cinnamon. Some people use it for blood sugar and digestion, but the human evidence is limited. Because cassia cinnamons like this one are high in a compound called coumarin, regularly taking large supplement doses may be hard on the liver in sensitive people, so use food amounts and check with your pharmacist before taking concentrated products.

Cinnamomum loureiroi · Lauraceae · Inner bark (and bark essential oil) · Ground spice, sticks (quills), capsules, extracts, tea, essential oil

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Saigon Cinnamon is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Saigon Cinnamon record says about it on its own.

Saigon Cinnamon: dosing

There is no well-established standardized dose for Saigon cinnamon, and product strengths vary widely. Studies on cinnamon have used different amounts and forms, making it hard to recommend a single reliable dose.If you choose to use a supplement, the safest approach is to follow the directions on the product label and not exceed them.

About Mobocertinib

What Is Mobocertinib Used For?

Brand name: Exkivity

  • Mobocertinib is used to treat a certain type of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that cannot be removed by surgery and has spread to other parts of the body either during or after treatment with platinum chemotherapy medications. Mobocertinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps stop or slow the spread of cancer cells and may help shrink tumors.
