Urokinase is a powerful clot-busting drug given in the hospital, usually through a vein, to dissolve dangerous blood clots in conditions like a pulmonary embolism. Because it works by breaking down clots, it already carries a real risk of bleeding on its own. That is why doctors monitor people closely while it is being given.

Here is the concern with serrapeptase: lab studies suggest it may also have some clot-dissolving (fibrinolytic) activity. So in theory, stacking it on top of Urokinase could add to the bleeding risk, meaning easier bruising, oozing from IV sites, or more serious internal bleeding. To be clear, this is only a theoretical worry based on test-tube data, not proven in people. Still, if you take or have been told you will receive Urokinase, please tell your doctor or pharmacist about any serrapeptase use before they make any decisions.
