Clopidogrel falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Strawberry interacts with.

In vitro and animal research suggests that strawberry extract can inhibit platelet aggregation due to its phenolic content. Theoretically, strawberry might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the simple version: Clopidogrel (Plavix) already works to keep your platelets from clumping and forming clots. Strawberries contain plant compounds (called polyphenols) that, in lab dishes and animal studies, seem to nudge platelets in that same anti-clotting direction. So in theory, stacking the two could add up and make bleeding or bruising a little more likely.

The good news is that this is mostly theoretical, based on test-tube and animal research, not on people. Enjoying strawberries as a normal food is very unlikely to cause a problem. A concentrated strawberry extract supplement is a different story, so I'd run that one by your pharmacist or doctor first. Watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that won't stop, and report it.

What Is Clopidogrel Used For?

Clopidogrel tablets are used to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) — including unstable angina and non-ST-elevation or ST-elevation heart attacks — and in people with a history of recent heart attack, recent stroke, or established peripheral arterial disease. For ACS, it is typically given alongside aspirin.

It works by preventing platelets (blood cells that trigger clotting) from clumping together, which helps keep arteries open and lowers the chance of a dangerous clot forming.
