Strawberry + Prednisolone
Prednisolone brand names: Prednisolone, Sterane, Delta Cortef, Cortalone, Pred Forte, and others.
Strawberry has a moderate interaction with Prednisolone. In vitro research suggests that strawberry extract can inhibit p-glycoprotein efflux.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Prednisolone
Prednisolone falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Strawberry interacts with.
Drugs that might be affected include some chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), protease inhibitors (amprenavir, indinavir, nelfinavir, saquinavir), H2 antagonists (cimetidine, ranitidine), some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, verapamil), corticosteroids, erythromycin, cisapride (Propulsid), fexofenadine (Allegra), cyclosporine, loperamide (Imodium), quinidine, and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: prednisolone is one of the drugs your body partly moves around using a transporter called P-glycoprotein, which acts like a little pump that helps shuttle the drug back out of cells. Lab studies (just test-tube work, not people) hint that compounds in strawberry might slow that pump down. If that happened in the body, a bit more prednisolone could hang around, which in theory might nudge up steroid-type effects like fluid retention, higher blood sugar, mood or sleep changes, or stomach upset.
I want to be honest though: this is very early evidence, and eating strawberries as a normal food is unlikely to cause a problem. Concentrated strawberry supplements are the bigger question mark. If you're using one regularly, just give your pharmacist or doctor a quick heads-up.

About Strawberry
What is Strawberry?
- General antioxidant support
- Heart and blood vessel health
- Blood sugar support
- Skin and oral health
- Source of vitamin C and fiber
Strawberry is a popular, nutrient-rich fruit that supplies vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidant plant compounds. Eating strawberries as part of a balanced diet is healthy for most people, but concentrated supplement forms have only limited research behind specific health claims. If you have allergies or take it as a supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor.
About Prednisolone
What Is Prednisolone Used For?
Brand names: Prednisolone, Sterane, Delta Cortef, Cortalone, Pred Forte, Solupred
Prednisolone is prescribed for many different conditions where inflammation or an overactive immune system is causing harm. These range from severe allergic reactions and asthma to certain skin diseases, blood disorders, eye problems, and some cancers.
It is also used to support the body when the adrenal glands aren't making enough of their own steroids, and to manage flares of conditions like ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, and nephrotic syndrome (a kidney condition causing protein loss in the urine).
