Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Fexofenadine, Pseudoephedrine
Fexofenadine, Pseudoephedrine falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Strawberry interacts with.
Drugs that might be affected include some chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), protease inhibitors (amprenavir, indinavir, nelfinavir, saquinavir), H2 antagonists (cimetidine, ranitidine), some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, verapamil), corticosteroids, erythromycin, cisapride (Propulsid), fexofenadine (Allegra), cyclosporine, loperamide (Imodium), quinidine, and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Allegra-D. The fexofenadine part of this combo relies on a tiny cellular pump called P-glycoprotein to move it in and out of your gut and other tissues. Some early lab studies hint that strawberry extract may slow that pump down. If that happened in real life, a bit more fexofenadine could stay in your system, which might mean slightly stronger drowsiness or dry mouth than usual (though fexofenadine is generally very mild on that front).
The honest truth is this is theoretical, based only on test-tube work, not on people. Enjoying strawberries in your diet is very unlikely to cause a problem. Concentrated strawberry supplements are the bigger question mark, so just run those by your pharmacist or doctor first.
