Here's the gist of this one. Voquezna Dual combines vonoprazan with amoxicillin, a pairing used to help knock out an H. pylori stomach infection. The concern with Syrian Rue isn't about how fast your body clears these medicines. Instead, it's about the liver. Large amounts of Syrian Rue seeds (we're talking the kind of big doses linked to poisoning, even up to 100 grams) have been tied to liver injury on their own.

Since amoxicillin can occasionally stress the liver too, the worry is that stacking the two could add up. To be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not solid proof. Watch for yellowing skin, dark urine, or belly pain, and please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

Theoretically, Syrian rue might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Syrian rue contains beta-carboline alkaloids, including harmine, harmol, and harmane. In vitro research suggests that these beta-carboline alkaloids competitively inhibit CYP3A4 enzymes.

Here's the gist for your Voquezna Dual pack, which combines vonoprazan with amoxicillin. The lab-based concern is that Syrian Rue's harmala alkaloids may slow down CYP3A4, an enzyme that helps clear vonoprazan from your body. If that enzyme gets blocked, vonoprazan could build up a bit, possibly nudging up side effects like headache, diarrhea, or stomach discomfort. Amoxicillin isn't really touched by this enzyme, so the antibiotic side is less of a worry here.

Keep in mind this is theoretical, based only on test-tube research, not real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since Syrian Rue carries its own toxicity risks, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

What is Syrian Rue?

There is little reliable human evidence that it safely treats any condition, and it carries real risks of toxicity, so it is not recommended for self-treatment.
