Here's the simple version. When you take a thyroid extract by mouth, anything else sitting in your stomach at the same time can get in the way of how well the thyroid hormone is absorbed. Trim-Elim is a combo product with caffeine and two salicylates (potassium salicylate and salicylamide), so swallowing it alongside your thyroid extract can blunt how much hormone actually makes it into your system.

The good news is this is rated a minor interaction, and it's really about timing, not danger. The easy fix most people use is to take thyroid hormone on an empty stomach and wait at least 30 to 60 minutes before taking other pills like this. The caffeine here can also add a bit to that jittery, racing-heart feeling some folks get from thyroid hormone. Run your timing plan by your pharmacist or doctor to be safe.
