Diroximel Fumarate falls under Oral Drugs — the group Thyroid Extract interacts with.

Food and medications can interfere with thyroid hormone absorption. Some foods, particularly those high in fiber or containing certain minerals like calcium or iron, can bind to thyroid hormones and reduce their absorption in the digestive tract. Additionally, taking thyroid medications with certain drugs, like antacids or calcium supplements, can hinder the effectiveness of the thyroid medication, necessitating adjustments in dosage or timing. Prescription thyroid medications, such as Synthroid, are recommended to be taken on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before food and other medications, for optimal absorption.

Here's the gist of this one: it's really about your thyroid extract, not your Vumerity. Thyroid hormones absorb best on an empty stomach, and taking them too close to other oral products (including other pills, food, or mineral supplements) can blunt how much hormone gets into your system. So the concern is keeping your thyroid dosing reliable, not that Vumerity becomes dangerous.

The good news is this is rated minor, and there's no strong evidence that diroximel fumarate and thyroid extract harm each other directly. A simple fix is spacing them apart, usually taking the thyroid product on its own and your Vumerity (with food, which it tolerates) at a separate time. Since over-the-counter thyroid extract is unpredictable anyway, please run your routine by your pharmacist or doctor.
