The concern is that taking other oral pills alongside your thyroid hormone can get in the way of the thyroid hormone soaking in properly, which can leave your thyroid treatment working less reliably. It's rated minor, and the evidence is solid that absorption matters here.

The simple fix most folks use is spacing things out. Thyroid hormone is best taken on an empty stomach, and other medicines like nabumetone can be taken a bit later. Nabumetone itself isn't a prodrug problem here, so it should still relieve your arthritis pain and stiffness as usual. Just run your timing past your pharmacist to keep both working well.

Nabumetone tablets — available as generic nabumetone and as the brand Relafen DS — are used to relieve pain, swelling, and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

It is meant to be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed. It is not approved for pain relief around coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) heart surgery.
