Bezafibrate falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Tragacanth interacts with.

Theoretically, tragacanth might alter absorption of oral drugs.
Tragacanth contains hydrocolloidal fiber which can decrease, increase, or not affect oral drug absorption. To avoid changes in absorption, take tragacanth 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's the simple version: tragacanth is a thick, gel-forming fiber, and when you swallow it close to your bezafibrate (Bezalip), that slippery gel can grab onto the pill and change how much of it your gut soaks up. This is purely theoretical, based on how the fiber behaves, not on actual studies in people taking bezafibrate. The effect could go either way: it might lower absorption (so your cholesterol and triglyceride medicine works a little less) or, less commonly, nudge it the other direction.

Bezafibrate isn't a prodrug, so we're just talking about how much reaches your bloodstream. An easy fix is timing: take your bezafibrate first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before the tragacanth. Food-level amounts in products are unlikely to matter much, but check with your pharmacist if you're using a concentrated supplement.

Tragacanth is a plant gum used mainly as a thickener and emulsifier in foods, cosmetics, and medicines, and traditionally to soothe the throat and gut.
