Here's the simple version. Tragacanth is a gel-forming fiber, and when you swallow it, it creates a thick, slippery layer in your stomach and gut. The concern is that this gel could grab onto a pill like Stelujan (which combines ertugliflozin and sitagliptin) and slow down or change how much of it your body actually absorbs. In theory, that could make your diabetes medicine work a little less reliably, which might show up as higher-than-expected blood sugar.

I want to be honest with you though: this is a theoretical concern based on how fiber gums behave, not on real studies with this drug. To stay safe, a good habit is to take your Stelujan first and wait about 30 to 60 minutes before using a tragacanth supplement. Food amounts in products are unlikely to be a problem. If you take it regularly, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.
