Guaifenesin, Phenylephrine falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Tragacanth interacts with.

Theoretically, tragacanth might alter absorption of oral drugs.
Tragacanth contains hydrocolloidal fiber which can decrease, increase, or not affect oral drug absorption. To avoid changes in absorption, take tragacanth 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's the gist with your cold and cough combo: tragacanth is a gummy fiber that swells into a thick gel in your stomach. When that gel is sitting there alongside your guaifenesin and phenylephrine, it can theoretically trap some of the medicine and slow or shift how much gets absorbed. That might mean a little less mucus-thinning from the guaifenesin, or weaker decongestion from the phenylephrine, though honestly the effect could also go the other way or be barely noticeable.

This is a theoretical concern based on how fiber behaves, not from real patient reports, so please don't worry too much. A simple fix is to space them out: take your medicine first, then wait 30 to 60 minutes before the tragacanth. If you have questions, your pharmacist is happy to help.
