Here's the gist: tragacanth is a plant gum that swells into a thick, slippery gel when it hits fluid. The thinking is that this gel could grab onto an oral medicine like your ketorolac (Toradol) tablet and change how much of it your gut soaks up. It could lower the amount absorbed, raise it, or do nothing at all. Right now this is purely theoretical, based on how the fiber behaves, not on real studies in people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Since ketorolac is a strong pain reliever you usually take only for a short stretch, you want its full, reliable effect. A simple fix keeps things clean: take your ketorolac first, then wait 30 to 60 minutes before any tragacanth. If you have questions, your pharmacist is happy to help.

What Is Ketorolac Used For?

Brand names: Toradol, Acuvail

Ketorolac is used for short-term management of moderately severe acute pain — the kind that would otherwise require an opioid-level painkiller. It is most commonly used in a postoperative (after surgery) setting.

Treatment is always started with an injection (IV or IM), and oral tablets are only used as a follow-up if needed. The total treatment time — shots plus pills combined — must never exceed 5 days. It is not meant for minor aches or long-term pain conditions.
