Here's the practical side of this one. Tragacanth is a plant gum that swells into a thick gel when it hits fluid in your stomach. When fiber gels like this sit next to a pill, they can sometimes trap part of the medicine and change how much gets absorbed. This is a theoretical concern only, based on how the gum behaves, not on real studies with this specific drug.

Pentetate Zinc Trisodium (Zn-DTPA) works by binding radioactive metals so your body can clear them out, and it's most often given by IV, though it can be used another way too. If you do take any oral medicine, a simple fix is to separate them: take tragacanth 30 to 60 minutes after your medication. When in doubt, run it by your pharmacist or doctor.
