ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Naproxen, Pseudoephedrine
Naproxen, Pseudoephedrine falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Vanadium interacts with.
In vitro research shows that the sodium orthovanadate form of vanadium prolongs clotting time, likely through inhibition of thrombin and factor Xa.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the quick version for Aleve Cold and Sinus, which pairs naproxen (an NSAID pain reliever) with pseudoephedrine (a decongestant). The naproxen part already nudges up your bleeding risk a little, since NSAIDs can irritate the stomach lining and make platelets less sticky. In lab studies, one form of vanadium also slowed down clotting. So in theory, stacking the two could add up and raise the chance of bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach bleeding (think dark or bloody stools).
I'll be honest though: this is based only on test-tube research, not real patients, so the worry is mostly theoretical. Most people get plenty of vanadium from food and don't need a supplement. If you're thinking about a concentrated vanadium product, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Naproxen, Pseudoephedrine page
“Aleve Cold and Sinus pairs naproxen, an anti-inflammatory painkiller, with pseudoephedrine, a decongestant that acts as a mild stimulant, and that combination is why its supplement list runs to 334 entries and deserves real vigilance. The two biggest themes mirror the two drugs.”

About Vanadium
What is Vanadium?
- Blood sugar and diabetes support
- Athletic performance and muscle building
- Lowering cholesterol
- General trace-mineral supplementation
Vanadium is a trace mineral found in tiny amounts in food, and people get plenty from a normal diet. Supplement claims for diabetes, weight, and athletic performance are not well proven, and higher doses can be toxic. Most people do not need to supplement it, and you should check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it.
