Here's the basic idea with chasteberry (Vitex) and molindone. Molindone works by blocking dopamine in the brain to calm the abnormal signaling seen in schizophrenia. Vitex is thought to gently nudge dopamine activity in the opposite direction. So in theory, the two could work against each other, and Vitex might chip away at how well molindone controls symptoms.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This concern comes only from lab and animal studies, not from real people, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, with a medication this important, I wouldn't add Vitex on your own. Have a quick chat with your pharmacist or prescriber first so they can keep an eye on how you're doing.
