ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Dapagliflozin Propanediol, Metformin
Dapagliflozin Propanediol, Metformin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Wheatgrass interacts with.
Animal research shows that taking wheatgrass stimulates the release of insulin from beta-cells and lowers blood glucose.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: Xigduo XR combines two diabetes medicines, dapagliflozin and metformin, that already work to lower your blood sugar. Wheatgrass may add a small extra nudge in that same direction. In animal studies it seemed to prompt the release of insulin and bring glucose down, so stacking it on top of your medication could, in theory, push your numbers a little lower than intended.
If your blood sugar dips too far, you might feel shaky, sweaty, lightheaded, hungry, or confused. I want to be honest, though: this concern comes only from lab and animal research, not human trials, so the real-world risk is likely small. If you'd like to add wheatgrass, just keep an eye on your readings and run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Wheatgrass
What is Wheatgrass?
- General nutrition support
- Digestive health
- Antioxidant support
- Energy and wellness
- Arthritis symptoms
- Detox or cleansing routines
Wheatgrass is the young grass of the wheat plant, taken as a juice or powder, and is mainly used as a concentrated source of vitamins and plant nutrients. Solid scientific evidence for most health claims is limited, and it is best viewed as a nutritional add-on rather than a treatment. It is generally well tolerated, but people with celiac disease, wheat allergy, or who are pregnant should be cautious and check with a healthcare provider.
