Glucagon falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group White Horehound interacts with.

Evidence from animal research suggests that white horehound might lower blood glucose. However, preliminary clinical research suggests that white horehound only slightly lowers blood glucose when taken in combination with antidiabetic agents, suggesting that the effect may not be clinically significant. Until more is known, use with caution. Theoretically, white horehound may have additive effects when used by patients taking antidiabetic drugs. The dose of diabetes medications might need to be adjusted. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's an interesting twist with this pairing. Most of the diabetes medicines in the warning, like insulin or metformin, are meant to lower blood sugar, so adding a herb that might also nudge sugar down could stack up. But glucagon does the opposite. It's your rescue treatment that tells your liver to dump stored sugar into the blood when you're crashing dangerously low.

So in theory, if white horehound has any mild sugar-lowering effect, it could work slightly against what glucagon is trying to do in an emergency. Honestly, the human evidence here is weak (animal studies and one low-quality trial), and the effect looks small. Still, since glucagon is an emergency drug, it's worth mentioning this to your pharmacist or doctor before regularly using horehound.
