Chlorpropamide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Winter Cherry interacts with.

In animal diabetic models, winter cherry extract decreases blood glucose. This effect has not been shown in humans. Theoretically, winter cherry might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (Diabeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the simple version. Chlorpropamide already pushes your blood sugar down by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. Winter cherry (ashwagandha) may also gently lower blood sugar on its own. Stack the two together and, in theory, they could add up and drop your sugar a little too far. With chlorpropamide that matters extra, because it's a long-acting sulfonylurea, so a low can linger. Watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or confusion.

That said, this concern comes mostly from animal studies, and it hasn't been proven in people, so I wouldn't panic. If you want to try winter cherry, just loop in your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your glucose readings.
