Gliclazide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Winter Cherry interacts with.

In animal diabetic models, winter cherry extract decreases blood glucose. This effect has not been shown in humans. Theoretically, winter cherry might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (Diabeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the gist with Winter Cherry (ashwagandha) and your gliclazide. Gliclazide is a sulfonylurea, which means it tells your pancreas to push out more insulin to bring blood sugar down. In animal studies, Winter Cherry on its own seemed to lower blood sugar a bit too. So in theory, stacking the two could push your numbers too low.

I want to be honest though: this is based on lab and animal work, not solid human studies, so it's more of a 'keep an eye out' than a red alert. If you do try both, watch for low blood sugar signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy, and check your glucose a little more often at first. Loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
